Grooming Terms and Conditions
Declaration acceptance of these Terms and conditions
As the owner (or with the full authority of the owner), you (as described herein) by making a booking or bringing your dog to an appointment acknowledge you have read, understood and agree to all of the following herein grooming terms and conditions and you agree permission to Talya’s Dog Spa (a sole trader company herein referred as Talya’s Dog Spa) to proceed with the agreed grooming requirements.
Should you not agree to all or any parts of these grooming terms and conditions, to opt-out of acceptance, you should notify Talya’s Dog Spa either by telephone or email with at least a 48 hours notice so we can cancel your appointment without any charges owed otherwise £18 will be incurred.
General
- Talya’s Dog Spa is by appointment only and will provide dog grooming services located inside the premises of Pretty Paws, 95 Glover Street, Perth, PH2 0JP.
- Talya’s Dog Spa will not subject any dog to unacceptable levels of stress. If during the grooming process your dog finds any part of the grooming process too stressful that part will not be completed however you will incur the agreed full groom and options charges.
- Talya’s Dog Spa reserve the right to refuse bookings for your dog should there be three missed no-show appointments.
- Talya’s Dog Spa reserve the right to cancel appointments in exceptional circumstances.
- Talya’s Dog Spa reserves the right to refuse to groom and apply the agreed full groom charges whether the groom has started or not for any dog:
- That displays aggressive behaviour and in accordance with the Dangerous Dogs Act, owners are liable for any bites and injuries caused by their dog.
- Where muzzles may need be used for dogs who are known to bite and/or a groom is terminated due to biting.
- With a suspected contagious illness e.g. kennel cough, canine parvovirus, infectious conjunctivitis and more.
- Where a dog has come into season.
- Where a dog is Pregnant.
- That presents a risk or injury to itself or the groomer.
- If a dog has matted fur or any condition that we consider to be too high a risk to deal with, we will not continue with the groom.
- You clearly understand and agree that whilst every care and attention is given to your dog, Talya’s Dog Spa will not be held liable for any of and that you accept full risk and liability for the following:
- Grooming of a sick or elderly dog.
- Any exposed underlying issues or health problems.
- Any mishap caused by non-disclosure of information at the time of groom about any behaviour issues.
- Any irritation, patchiness, abrasions or hair loss that may arise due to the grooming process if you fail to disclose information at the time of groom about any allergies and/or skin conditions.
- Any injury incurred during the grooming process if you fail to disclose information at the time of groom regarding any physical and/or medical conditions such as elbow or hip dysplasia, epilepsy etc.
- Any injuries displayed on removal of a matted coat where the dog is severely matted.
- Severely matted coats can cause a health and welfare risk to dogs as outlined in the Animal Welfare Act (2006). In accordance with the act, we will only attempt to de-matt coats for a maximum of 15 minutes and reserve the right to perform a complete clip off of the dog’s coat or a refusal to perform grooming (no refund will be provided for cancelled appointments due to welfare considerations (it is incumbent on all owners to maintain their dogs coats with regular brushing and grooming).
- You agree that If a complete clip off is needed we will try to notify you before, however if we cannot contact you, you authorise Talya’s Dog Spa groomer to make the decision to clip off the dog’s coat either by your instruction or for the benefit of the dog. You also acknowledge that although the dog may behave differently, particularly in cold weather, we will still undertake to clip off the coat.
- If you believe that your dog has been injured due to the grooming process you must seek veterinary advice within 72 hours. Talya’s Dog Spa will require a full written veterinary report stating the cause of injury being specific to the grooming process for us to accept any liability or negligence.
- You understand Talya’s Dog Spa may take before/during/after photographs of the dog for training and development purposes and for the purpose of marketing and promotional activities and you agree that Talya’s Dog Spa will have the right to use images of the dog for these purposes.
- You agree to Talya’s Dog Spa holding specific information about you so as to ensure we can contact you by mail, telephone, text or email for the following reasons:
- In an emergency
- For booking reminders
- Informing of any special offers
- Informing of last minute dog grooming availability
- Dog collections.
- Should you need to cancel an appointment, you should notify Talya’s Dog Spa either by telephone or email with at least a 48 hours notice so we can cancel your appointment without any charges owed otherwise £18 will be incurred.
- If Talya’s Dog Spa has to cancel your appointment for any reason beyond the control of you, an alternative date will be offered.
Appointment Drop-Off
- Please ensure you arrive on time for your appointment, arriving late may incur a late fee. Arriving more than 15 minutes after your appointment time may result in your appointment being cancelled and Talya’s Dog Spa reserve the right to charge £18 being taken.
- Please ensure that the dog has been toileted before arriving for the appointment. (It is preferred not to exercise the dog before coming in for the groom as the dog may become too tired to stand for the groom.)
- You must ensure you have provided us with the following information:
- Your full Name, Address, Email & Contact Number
- Your dogs name, Registered vet, verify the breed and coat type.
- The dog vaccines, flea and worm treatments must be up-to-date and the dog by law must be micro-chipped.
- You will inform Talya’s Dog Spa groomer of any medications the dog is currently taking.
- You will verbally raise any notable concerns that you may have for the dog with Talya’s Dog Spa groomer.
- You will agree the treatments with the Talya’s Dog Spa groomer prior to the groom along with any preferred style requirements.
- The Talya’s Dog Spa groomer will assess and notify you on the demeanor, coat, as well as inform you of any additional charges such as:
- Additional assistance required for biting/aggressive handling assistance.
- Serious matting charges to cover more time to complete this.
- Excessive overgrown coat which will require more time to groom.
- Previously failed to show up for last appointment charges.
- Late appointment charge.
- A collection time will be agreed with you when you leave your dog with us.
- You are aware that any price quoted is an estimate.
During the groom
- If the dog requires urgent medical attention whilst in Talya’s Dog Spa care, Talya’s Dog Spa reserve the right to seek veterinary attention at your notified dogs registered vet, any fees incurred will be payable by you.
- If any additional grooming is necessary due to unforeseen issues you authorise Talya’s Pet Spa to proceed as necessary and accept you will be liable for any resulting additional costs.
- Any costs arising to Talya’s Dog Spa from removal of an infestation of fleas on your dog will incur a charge of £10 being added to the bill.
Appointment Pick-Up
- Please contact us if you are going to be late. Failure to collect your dog at the arranged time, or notify us that you will be late, will incur a sitting fee (£5 after 15 mins and £5 for every additional 30 mins).
- On collection of the dog, you will make full payment for the groom costs which must be made, our preferred payment option would be by card however we do accept cash payments.
- If you wish to book-in another appointment, this would be the best time to do so to ensure availability.
